World Parents Day

Proclaimed World Parents' Day by the United Nations, June 1, 2024, enabled UNICEF to launch Parenting Month, celebrated this year under the theme: “The promise of playful parenting”.

This year's celebration focused above all on the importance of play and playful interactions between parents/carers and children, on the one hand, and on practical information and tools to protect children when they engage in play on digital spaces on the other.

As parents, it's important to bear in mind that loving, talking, reading and playing with children has an impact not only on the relationships they establish with others, but also on the development of their cognitive, communication and self-control skills.
