What is mental health?
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Mental Health is defined as “a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and makes a contribution to his or her community”.
Many negative ideas surround mental health. To deal with them, it's important to, among other things:
- Show empathy and respect for those who are brave enough to talk about what they are going through
- Become aware of one's own beliefs and prejudices on the subject
- Encourage more open conversations in your community
- Realize that mental health is everyone's business
