U-Report: What is it?

U-Report is a free digital communication tool based on SMS technology.

It gives young people the opportunity to express their opinions on subjects close to their hearts, debate what's going on in their community, and receive messages containing valuable, sometimes vital, information.

It can be used to tackle a range of issues, including climate change.

How does it work?

As a young person, you can give your opinion on a range of issues by answering surveys on your phone.

The results are then posted on a public website.

What are the results used for?

These results can then be used by UNICEF and its partners, as well as by associations, to advocate with decision-makers and partners on important issues concerning young people.

Is there a fee to become a U-Reporter?

U-Report is totally free!

Registration is voluntary and free, as is participation in surveys.

U-Report is completely anonymous. This means that U-Reporters' information is perfectly secure.
