Cars and factories are emitting smoke into the air

Air Pollution Worsens Climate Change

Ambient air pollution, which is primarily a cause rather than an effect of climate change, has significant impacts on children’s health. It is generally more pronounced in urban centers. As more and more children live in cities, air pollution poses an increasing threat. Exposure to air pollutants through inhalation is especially serious for children because their lungs are small and continue developing until around the age of 18.

Smoke and emissions from the burning of fossil fuels in homes, buses, cars, and factories increase greenhouse gas emissions. They worsen climate change, pollute the air we breathe, and cause health problems. Smoke and fumes from cooking stoves that use wood, or charcoal can also release dangerous gases into the atmosphere and exacerbate respiratory issues.
